Hibernal (GM 322-58) is an early ripening white wine grape from Germany. It has a short growing season with high yield potential. Bred at Geisenheim this Vitis vinifera selection from a cross of (Seibel 7053 x Riesling) x (Seibel 7053 x Riesling) and the selected clone for data analysis was Hibernal (GM 322-58) IC86.8506. The prime name of this variety is Hibernal. In Germany this selection is higher yielding than Riesling and the wines produced are similar to Scheurebe; wine flavours are herbal, citrus grapefruit, lemon or honeysuckle. This selection displays some resistance to downy mildew.
